Satin Angora Bunnies are ready for sale!

Mocha's litter is ready for their new homes, and I'm posting them here for you to see.
They are all bucks, and are $40 each.

It's a beautiful day here, and the pictures came out great - here goes

Gorgeous little black buck -

...and his brother, they are identical (One was in more sun than the other, which is why one is lighter)!

This little fawn has a GREAT body and a very perky personality! SOLD

Two photos of this beauty. This little steel bunny has beautiful eyes - for a few weeks they have been blue, but are tending to gray now. Another great personality and very nice body! SOLD

This last pretty little boy is on the small side, and is a little shy - but likes to cuddle up once he gets to know you

Time to wean those babies!

Time for a baby bunny update. All 7 have pulled through, no losses (thank goodness!) It's so much fun to watch all the hopping and antics they do, but they're all eating well now, so it's time to give mama a break and start weaning.

These 2 are the champion eaters, so they got their own first cage all to themselves yesterday -

Within the next 10 days they will be weaned and Mocha can get her whole cage back!

I'ts done!

The Barn is done - can you feel the glee? Here are the final construction photos, and now my fun can begin! Running with a glowing recommendation from another VA Homestead list member, Penny, we hired the same folks to build our barn as she had. They did a really great job! The pictures here also include Chris and JR from First Choice Construction.

Thanks to Chris' wife Kathy for all her "backoffice" work getting permits in place and keeping the business side running.!

One more day after today and it should be done!

July 14 - Stairway work almost completed today - I can HARDLY stand the suspense!

Doors and windows are now complete!

July 12th update: This work was actually completed on Saturday, but it was so late it was too dark to take the pictures. Now you can see the shingles are all done (don't they look great!) and the doors are in too. Now for the stairs to be done on the inside, final inspection, and it will be ALL MINE!!!

...a little further...

July 12th - Shingles are underway!

Almost there

July 8th - got a little behind on my photos, this is the stage of building on this date:

Barn Progress!

I'm back - watching the barn progress has been a blast, and I've been taking pictures at the end of every day that work was done. Had one day where the fellas were given the wrong thickness of smart-panel siding and had to wait til the next day before any could be gotten in. Thanks to 84 Lumber in Manassas for coming thru! Had some rain too, and a short day on Monday due to a heavy thunderstorm which then drizzled and dripped the rest of the evening, but yesterday they were back at it full force.

We've had 2 "Chamber of Commerce" days, as they call them, today and yesterday which has been great and their pace of work has been brisk. Tomorrow they tell me they're going to be ready to put the paint on before finishing the roof and doing the finish work (like stairs).

Here are the photos in succession:

Day 1 - the holes were all dug for the foundation piers set in concrete. At the end of the day, just about dark, 2 foxes came out of the woods and were playing in the holes... they were chasing each other around the piles of dirt and holes, looked like they were having lots of fun.

If you look close, you can see the foxes playing...

Next day - My husband coined the term "Dance Floor" for this stage... foundation done and all ready for walls!

Walls! This was such an exciting sight!

This was the 'rain out' afternoon, just couldn't get very far with the rotten weather :(

End of the day yesterday. The day was beautiful, and it was almost dark when I took this. Great progress!

Will post more as it occurs!

Baby bunnies are here!

Finding a new mom and a little box of baby rabbits is a great way to start any Friday! Both does had their litters yesterday, and there are a total of 7 baby bunnies. This is going to be fun to be part of!

Moving right along...

All,
My intentions were originally to post this blog as a way for friends to watch the progress of my beloved BARN as it goes up. I thought a photo blog would be fun to post to, and hopefully fun to read as well.

To kick things off, the photos will appear in order as the barn gets built and I'm hoping it will be fun to watch -

POISON IVY: Words to watch out for. I let my garden trick me into thinking that since I had taken care of (or neglected most years) of it for so many years it wouldn't let the bad boys in the neighborhood in - needless to say I am still getting over a mother=lode of poison ivy. This is relevant to the barn building because it really slowed down getting the site cleared. Here is a start off photo with the majority of the ground weeds and POISON IVY gone:
